The Smith High School class of 1970 was blessed to have a teacher, mentor , and coach like Mr. Clarence Lewis Sr. He helped to develop our gifts and talents to become proud, productive, and successful citizens. He saw something in us that made us think we were worth his time and efforts ! For that we are grateful ! Not everyone would have someone in their life like him to guide and correct them. He took authority and demanded-respect . We learned life long lessons . Take your rest Mr. Clarence Lewis Sr.

Bro. Lewis was an Omega Man (69yrs of service), who stood out as a man who had great stature and integrity. In my eyes, he exemplified the true meaning of the word "Manhood" in everything he touched. Chucky Wilson

Mr. Lewis and I worked together at Smith High School where he was my department chairperson. When he stepped down form that position, he recommended me for the position, which I did get. He and I also coached together. My prayers and deepest sympathies to his family.

Mr. Lewis was that smiling light, that glimmer of encouragement, the shining example of caring that touched the lives of so many throughout the years and was much appreciated by all who knew him. He will long be remember, by family, friends, and more, but also by God who extends His wonderful promises to all. John 5:28,29; Psalm 37:11,29 My prayers are with the family. Rock S.
