Obituary For John Henry Armbrester

Graveside services for Mr. John Henry Armbrester will be 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 2, 2020, at St. Campbell Church Cemetery. Pastor Raymond Garrett will be the officiant. Visitation will be 3-5 p.m. on Friday, May 1, 2020.

Mr. John Henry Armbrester began this life on Monday, February 13, 1939, to the union of Johnny C. Armbrester and Catherine Thomas Armbrester in Alpine, Alabama.

Mr. Armbrester was a graduate of Talladega County Training School. He worked for many years in construction and was a member of Local #559. When he was not working and spending time with his family, John Henry enjoyed hunting, fishing, target shooting and playing dominoes. On Saturday, April 9, 1966, John united in holy matrimony with the former Peggy Lee Calhoun and together they were parents to seven children.

On Saturday, April 25, 2020, John Henry began his eternal life at Citizens Baptist Medical Center. He was preceded in passing by one son, Master John “Dusty” Armbrester; his parents, Johnny and Catherine Armbrester; five sisters, Mae Lizzy Garrett, Mannie Swain, Annie Armbrester, Mable Garrett and Leanna McDaniel; and three brothers, Larry Armbrester, Edward Armbrester and James Armbrester.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife of fifty-four years, Peggy L. Armbrester of Alpine, Alabama; three daughters, LeShan (Michael) Armbrester, Tyreesha Armbrester and Shifvon (Roger) Armbrester of Alpine, Alabama; three sons, Henry (Towanda) Armbrester and Timothy Armbrester of Alpine, Alabama and Maurice (Shani) Swain; twenty-two grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; five brothers, Walter (Della) Armbrester and Roy (Jessie) Armbrester of Alpine, Alabama, Oscar Morris of Tacoma, Washington, Daniel Morris of Gadsden, Alabama and A. G. Morris of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; two sisters-in-law, Daisy Armbrester and Rosemary Armbrester of Alpine, Alabama; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
