Obituary For Patricia Ann Jefferson

The late Mrs. Patricia Jefferson of Sylvester, Georgia, departed this life on Saturday, April 25, 2020 at Tift Regional Medical Center in Tifton, Georgia.

A private ceremony for the family will be held on Friday, May 1, 2020 at 3:00 p.m. from the Shepard Memorial Garden Cemetery in Sylvester, Georgia. Reverend Robert Rice, Jr. will bring Words of Comfort.

Patricia Ann Chambers Jefferson, affectionately known as “Trishann”, was born on June 14, 1952 to the late Mr. and Mrs. Walter and Beulah Chambers in Sylvester, Georgia.

Patricia was educated in the Worth County School System and graduated from Worth County High School in 1972. She was an avid basketball player and track runner during her time at Holley Elementary and Worth County High School.

Patricia was united in Holy Matrimony to Melvin Serville Jefferson on December 22, 1972. This union was blessed with three children: Melvin, Shelia, and James. She was employed with local textile businesses in Sylvester. Patricia was employed with ConAgra Foods for 30 years, from which she retired in 2017. She spent many days of her retirement earning her well-deserved rest being a wife, mom, and grandma. She was well known in her family for her magic touch with collard greens and pound cake.

On April 25, 2020, Patricia transitioned from her earthly home and received her wings. She has reunited with her parents, Walter and Beulah Chambers; and five of her siblings; Margaret Williams, Gladys Jenkins, Samuel Chambers, Georgia Williams, and Louise Hamilton.

She leaves to cherish her fond memories: her loving and devoted husband, Melvin S. Jefferson; three children, Melvin L. Jefferson “Spanky”, Shelia Jackson, and James Patrick Jefferson; one son-in-law Isaac Jackson; five grandchildren, Desrick Jefferson, Kalambria Jackson, London Jefferson, Jordyn Jackson, Kingston Jefferson; two sisters, Nancy Chambers, Doris James, both of Sylvester, Georgia; one brother and sister-in-law, Homer and Cynthia Chambers of Camilla, Georgia; a very close family friend and children’s godmother, Gloria Milton; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, devoted friends, former coworkers, classmates, and neighbors abundant in numbers to relish in the memories of her.

I am very sorry to hear about the death of your loved one. Death is never easy, in fact, at 1 Corinthians 15:26 de I am very sorry to hear of the loss of your loved one Trishann, and I offer my condolences. A scripture that has helped me in my time of loss is Psalm 94:19 When anxieties overwhelmed me, you comforted and soothed me. And John 5:28,29 says, Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out. These words from our Sovereign and Creator have comforted me and I hope they will do the same for you.
