Mr. Jerry Lee Bankhead, Sr. was born on March 22, 1960, to the parentage of the late Mr. & Mrs. George and Minnie Bankhead. He was the second born. Jerry departed his earthly life on Wednesday, April 22, 2020 at the Baptist Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi.

He graduated from Durant High School and furthered his education at Holmes Community College for two years.

Jerry was united in Holy Matrimony to Annie Campbell on July 5, 1981 who he so lovingly refers to as "Ann". they were married thirty-nine years and to this loving union three children were born.

Jerry served the City of Durant, MS in Law Enforcement for over twenty-eight years.

Jerry was a devoted father, grandfather, brother and an avid skier husband. He enjoyed going hunting and fishing. He was a problem-solver who often took on difficult and unwanted tasks at home and in his community. He was a very kind and generous man.

Jerry leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Annie Bankhead, two sons: Jerry Bankhead Jr. of Durant, MS and Jarod (Sarah) Bankhead of Springfield, MO; one daughter: Jessica (Fredrick) Jordan of Durant, MS; three brothers: Johnny (Brenda) Bankhead, Willis (Brenda) Bankhead of Durant, MS and Frankie Bankhead of Stone Mountain, GA; three sisters: Bettie (Adrian) Hart of Carriere, MS, Pearl Cook & Bobbie (Tommy) Frizell of Durant, MS; eight grandchildren: Ladarrius Bankhead, Destiny Price, Jamelah Washington, Jerry Washington, Davonte Bankhead, Destin Bankhead, Jayden Bankhead & Jakobe Bankhead. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
