Obituary For Cedric "Jody" Mathis

Mr. Cedric Mathis, transitioned to rest Tuesday, April 28, 2020 at Navicent Health, Macon, Georgia.

Cedric Jody Mathis was born in Madison, Georgia, on April 30, 1971, to Mr. Lane Mathis and the late Drucilla Mathis.

Cedric was preceded in death by his mom, Drucilla Mathis, and his brother, Jermaine Mathis.

Cedric, affectionately known as “Jody” was a faithful member of Zion Covenant Fellowship, under the leadership of Pastor Fred Lowe. Cedric married the love of his life, Glenda, in 2010. He was a devoted family man. Cedric enjoyed race cars, watching drag racing, and grilling for family and friends. He was an Atlanta Falcons Super Fan. Cedric worked in the construction field and worked for Horton Homes until his health failed.

He leaves to cherish the memories to: his devoted, best friend and love of his life, his wife, Glenda Mathis; his father, Lane Mathis (Gail); two sons, Cedric Mathis, Jr. (Alesha), and Camden Mathis; two stepdaughters, Brandii Harris and Tempestt Bailey (Travis); one brother, Timmy Bland (Gloria); three sisters, Elaine Mathis, Gabrielle Seals and Mamie Bland; two devoted sisters-in-law, Sandie Moreland and Jean Mathis; and a host of aunts, uncles, godchildren, nieces, nephews, friends, and other family members.

Visitation will be held Saturday, May 2, 2020 from 11am-2pm at Bernard's the Eatonton Chapel.

Funeral Services will be held Sunday, May 3, 2020, in Eatonton, Georgia.
