To his beloved nephews, nieces, distant relatives, church family, friends and his many acquaintances. I would like to express my sincere and heartfelt condolences to each of you. As a distant relative I too feel the pain of his departure and miss his great companionship. I have so many fond memories of him he treated me like a close relative. As a tribute I personally can say that he was a devout Christian and a faithful parishioner and the greatest automobile mechanic I have ever known if it could be fixed he could do it! I was privileged and honored to have known this great man who always gave his best at whatever he did. Family be reminded that blessed are the dead which die in the Lord for death is not the end it is the beginning of their eternal resting place in heaven. Be blessed and may God mend our broken hearts! Rev. David l. Simmons, Sr.

My Dearest Uncle Hennie. WHEN WE ALL GET TO HEAVEN WHAT A DAY OF REJOICING IT WILL BE, WHEN WE ALL SEE JESUS WE WILL SING AND SHOUT THE VICTORY. HE WAS CLEARLY CHOSEN BY GOD TO LIVE TO BE 108. WHEN HE ARRIVED AT THE PEARLY GATES OF HEAVEN GOD AND JESUS BOTH STOOD UP AND SAID 'WELL DONE MY BELOVED SON AND FAITHFUL SERVANT, COME ON IN AND WELCOME BACK HOME. WHAT A DAY OF REJOICING WHEN HE WALKED THROUGH THE PEARLY GATES OF HEAVEN. JUST BEING IN HIS PRESENCE WAS A BLESSING. I WAS SO HAPPY THAT ALL OF HIS GREAT -GREAT NIECES AND NEPHEW (Cora Bell's) grand children were able to meet the Uncle we would gloat and smile about. Each day of my life I would say to people with pride, I have an uncle that is 100 years old. Each birthday I would say his new age. The smiles I would receive when I said his age.

I can vividly remember observing my mother and father's faces when they would see a White and Carolina Blue DeSoto drive in their yard with Uncle Hennie as the driver. 'Cora Belle' as he fondly called her was always filled with delight as she greeted her Uncle Hennie As he would journey back to Norwood Street, his 'Cora Belle' would worry until she received that awaited phone call, he had made it home safely. I would always remind her, God was at the wheel. A salute to our World War II Veteran. Rest In Paradise Uncle Hennie. We loved you, and you will surly be missed. We, the family of Uncle Henny, will truly miss him. However, in his passing, we must not forget that for each cloud, there's a rainbow; for each shadow, the sun; and for each parting, memories when sorrow is done.

- Kathy and David Sharpless

I did not know Mr. James Henry Brown; however, I know the family of Deborah Sharpless-Evans. She always spoke very lovingly of 'Uncle Henny.' Condolences to the family. Uncles are special, they offer lots of joy and wisdom. Farewell words were not spoken, he was gone before they knew it and only God knows why. May precious memories help sustain the family during the days, weeks and years to come. Mother Cora Bell Sharpless was the oldest niece and the mother of the Deborah Sharpless-Evans Family.
