Gerald Arnold Welch, Sr., 56, of Derry St., Harrisburg, transitioned into eternal life on Wednesday, April 15, 2020 at UPMC Pinnacle Community General Osteopathic Hospital. He was born in Washington, DC, son of the late George Washington Welch, Sr. and Celestine Nicholson Welch, a graduate of Fordham University, a Social Worker/Behavioral Specialist, Co-Founder/President of F. O. C. U. S., Adjunct Professior at HACC, on the Harrisburg City School Board and a member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, Gerald was preceded in death by his son, Troy Duger and leaves to celebrate his life; his wife, Donna Welch; his sons, Gerald Welch, Jr., Jamar Welch, Sr. and Kyle Clark; his daughters, Jneil Goodman (Stephone) and Takiyah Clark Emanerame (Frank Tobore); his sister, Tresa R. Welch; his 14 grandchildren; his 10 godchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. His life will be celebrated beginning with a viewing on Friday, May 1 in the Sanctuary of his church at 1201 N. 17th Sr., Harrisburg from 10:00 a.m. until 12 Noon. Covid 19 guidelines will be observed with masks and six Foot Social Distancing for all attendees. Private Funeral Services for family on Saturday, May 2 at 11:a.m. and burial in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
