Elsie Sedillo Armijo, 89, a lifetime resident of Truth or Consequences, died at home on Saturday, April 22, 2017. She was born on February 26, 1928 in Hot Springs, NM to Estanislado and Ursula (Gutierrez) Sedillo.

Elsie worked at Carrie Tingley Hospital in the cafeteria until she retired and was the caregiver for her mother, Ursulita. She loved her cat, Jessica, and loved watching her grandchildren grow up. She enjoyed reading her bible every day and looked forward to her Wednesday and Sunday prayer meetings.

Survivors include her sons – Cris Armijo, Jr. (Cindy Torres) and Ricky Armijo (Mercedes Murphy); daughter-in-law, Janie; grandchildren – Aerick Armijo (Alex Lara), Clint Armijo, Dashanta Armijo, Mahala Armijo, Marcus (Amanda) Armijo, Martín (Nicole) Armijo, Christine Armijo and Andrea Armijo; great-grandchildren – Deandra Montenegro, Aliza Gonzales, Morgan Armijo, Bailey Armijo, Sophia Armijo-Teran, and Damian Armijo-Teran; and nieces and nephews – Romelia Garcia, Bobby (Jenny) Chavez, Stanley (Flora) Sedillo, Vivian Sedillo, Rudy Sedillo, Kathleen (Henry) Lucero, and Larry (Evange) Sedillo. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cristobal Armijo; parents, Estanislado and Ursula Sedillo; step-daughter, Rita Louise Armijo; siblings – Juan de Jesus Sedillo, Estanislado Sedillo, Jr., Romelia Sedillo-Abila, Luisita Sedillo, Susan Sedillo (drowned at 3 years old), Susana Sedillo-Chavez, Frederico Sedillo and Juan de Jesus (Johnny) Sedillo; Rudy Sedillo; niece, Virginia Avila (Isabel) Chavez; and nephew, Jorge Sedillo.

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 from 2:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. at the Kirikos Family Funeral Home Chapel. Services will be held on Thursday, April 27, 2017, at 10:00 A.M. at the Kirikos Family Funeral Home Chapel with Loren Quick and Lynae Hunt officiating. Interment will follow in Vista Memory Gardens Cemetery. Serving as Casket Bearers will be Ricky Armijo, Cris Armijo, Aerick Armijo, Clint Armijo, Marcus Armijo and Martín Armijo. Honorary Casket Bearers will be Bobby Abeyta, Gene Garcia, George Sunderland, Phillip Sunderland, Raymond Abeyta, Doug Killam, Larry Austin, John McGinn, Ken Krebbs, Gene Killam, Matt McConnell along with her nephews, Bobby Chavez, Stanley Sedillo, Larry Sedillo, Vivian Sedillo and Rudy Sedillo.
