Dora was born to José and Tomasita (Trujillo) Sanchez on March 28, 1932 in Cuchillo, NM. Dora was a volunteer Grandma at the Truth or Consequences Public Schools, where she was affectionally known as Grandma Dora. She loved spending time with the kids and watching them grow. Dora also enjoyed playing bingo and spending time with her family. She was faithful member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church; her devotion and firm belief in God were her most significant traits.
Dora was blessed with a large and loving family and many friends she made along the way. Survivors including her children: Frank Apodaca (Dodie Terrazas), Mike (Velma) Apodaca, Susan (Ed) Ragsdale, Fred (Martina) Apodaca, and Teresa (Tim) Rausch; Grandchildren: Adrian Apodaca, Michael Joe Apodaca, K Rae Ray, Raven Apodaca, Gregory Apodaca, Cassie Apodaca, Kerianne Apodaca, Si Ragsdale, Clinton Apodaca, Tait Apodaca, Katie Apodaca, Ali Laird and Simms Laird; and Great Grandchildren: Michael Apodaca, Luke Apodaca, Shaelynn Ragsdale, Lucas Ragsdale, Derek Apodaca, and Amberly Reyes.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Secundino L. Apodaca; her grandchildren: Nathaniel Apodaca, Samuel Apodaca and Cecelia Laird; and her siblings: Joe Sanchez, Eunice Apodaca, Adam Sanchez, and Prescilla Sanchez. She will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff and residents of the New Mexico State Veterans Home, for giving Dora a loving, caring and supportive home for the last 5 years.
The family will be holding private services due to the current COVID19 restrictions, but asks that everyone who knew and loved Dora, to please join them in praying a Rosary in Dora’s honor from the comfort of your own home at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, July 10, 2020.
