Obituary For Mrs. Melinda Faye Gray

Mrs. Melinda Faye Draine Gray, more affectionately known as “Faye” was born October 27,1961, to the late Mrs. Darline Andrews Draine and the late Mr. Jack T. Draine, Sr., in Thomaston, Upson County GA. She was educated in the M.G. Worthy School in the Lincoln Park community. During her early womanhood, she met Mr. John Henry Gray. They were joined in Holy Matrimony on May 15, 1987. She was a loving wife and mother to two sons, Jonathan and Henry. To help support her family she was employed by Providence Nursing Home. She was a loyal and faithful employee for over thirty-two years. She enjoyed working and serving the patients. During her leisure time, she enjoyed planting flowers, cooking, having fun with her family and friends, loved jewelry, and spending time with her nephews. Faye was a people person. She was always friendly and never met a stranger she couldn’t talk to. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Mr. Tommy Draine and Mr. Jerry Draine. On Sunday, April 19, 2020 , the Lord said she had suffered long enough. He whispered her name, she answered and went home to be at rest. Her sudden departure has saddened the hearts of her family and friends but her joyful spirit and smile will live on. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Mr. John Henry Gray; her sons, Mr. Jonathan ( Shannon) Drain and Mr. Henry Gray (Colette) ; five grandchildren also survived; five sisters, Mrs. Jackie (Melvin) Ferguson, Mrs. Carrie (Jessie) Maines, Mrs. Betty Rouseau( Solomon), Mrs. Rebecca (Charles) Durham and Ms. Mary Green; three brothers Rev. Jack (Kerry) Draine, Jr., Mr. Curtis (Cathy) Draine and Mr. David (Carol) Draine; one aunt, Mrs. Winnie Draine all of Thomaston, GA; sisters and brothers-in-law, Mrs. Addie Williamson of Miami, FL, Ms. Viola Robinson, Mrs. Karen (Frederick) Webb, Mr. James Gray and Mr. Todd Gray all of Thomaston, GA; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends whom all will miss her love and presence dearly. Graveside Service were held Friday, April 24, 2020 11:00 A.M. Flint River Baptist Church Cemetery
