Obituary For Walter Dickerson

Walter Dickerson was born on May 16, 1939 in Andalusia Alabama to the Late Jessie and Ethel Dickerson. He attended school in Andalusia, Alabama and received his basic education. He left Andalusia as an early adult to seek employment and landed in Fort Pierce, Fl where he met his wife Evangeline and started a family. He worked many years for Becker Grove until his retirement.

He is proceeded in death by his Father and Mother; Jessie and Ethel Dickerson, Wife; Evangeline Dickerson, Brothers; Jessie Dickerson, Willie Dickerson and U.L. Dickerson and T.S McCain. Sisters; Estella Terry, Fanny Lawrence, Lillie M. Whitlaw, and Elizabeth Weeden.

On April 28, 2020, God saw that he was weary and tired and called him to come home. He was a humbled man and he loved his family and showed it everyday of his life.

He leaves to cherish his memories a Son; Jeremy Stevenson (LaKeecha), a Daughter; Onvia Martin (Donald), a Brother General Dickerson (Annie) of Enterprise, Alabama, and a sister; Louise Caldwell of Pensacola, Fl. Grandchildren; Tavarus Williams, Dominique Williams, Jamarion Stevenson and KeShawn Stevenson. Great Grands; Taylor Williams, Destiny Williams, Tavarus Williams Jr (TJ), and Devon Williams. A host of nephews, nieces, friends and family that will miss him dearly.

Public visitation for Walter Dickerson will be made available by way of our drive-thru in the rear of the Stone Brothers Funeral Home in Fort Pierce, FL on Friday, May 8, 2020 between the hours of 3:00pm and 5:00pm. Funeral services will take place on Saturday, May 9, 2020 also at Stone Brothers Funeral Home in Fort Pierce, FL beginning at 1:00pm. Burial will immediately follow in Pine Grove Cemetery in Fort Pierce, FL.

Although, many venues have opened and the restrictions of COVID 19 have been relaxed, we here at Stone Brothers Funeral Homes are still enforcing the guidelines set forth by the CDC and FDOH to protect our families and our staff. We ask that you respect this, as it could very well save your life. We also ask that you acknowledge and execute the 6 ft. social distancing guidelines, as well.
