Mr. Kenney Johnson, 67, departed this early life on Wednesday morning, May 6, 2020 at his home. He was born on October 22, 1952 in Bennettsville, SC, a son of the late Jonas and Ruth Johnson. He was also preceded in death by a sister, LeeVearn Johnson, and a brother, James M. Johnson.

Mr. Johnson attended Allenville High School in Bennettsville, SC. A resident of High Point, NC for over 45 years, he was employed by Furniture Land South for years. He attended Living Water Baptist Church. Kenney was an avid sports fan, with the following being his favorite teams: NFL—Pittsburgh Steelers; NBA—Philadelphia 76ers; College Basketball—Duke University; MLB—New York Yankees.

Mr. Johnson leaves to cherish his loving memories: one daughter, Mrs. Yolanda Brown (McCain), one grandson, Mr. Theodore “Teddy” Schultz Jr.; son-in-law, Larry Brown; five sisters, Ruby Quick, Johnsie Moore, Marcella Hutchinson, Margaret Johnson and Delma Fuller; three brothers, Jonas Johnson, Jack Johnson and Johny Johnson; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

In his own words my father said, “Remember me as someone who was a good person, warm hearted person, and would help you when I can.”

A private service will be held Saturday, May 9, 2020 at Phillips Funeral Service Chapel.
