Mr. Cerveria "Terry" Stanton

09/16/1959 - 05/04/2020

God in His Almighty power, who is too wise to make a mistake and too just to do wrong, saw fit on Monday, May 4, 2020 to take the soul of Cerveria Stanton. Cerveria affectionately known as “Terry” was born on September 16, 1959 to parents: Zedith and McKelly Vinson in Washington, DC.

Terry was reared in the Little Rock Community by his late grandparents, Cerveria and Gertrude Stanton. He attended the Dillon County Public schools and after graduation he enlisted in the United States Army where he served four years as a paratrooper and played on the military’s basketball team. Part of those years were served in Germany where he got his love of foreign cars.

After returning home he met and married Betty McQueen Stanton, and to this union one son was born. Terry worked a variety of jobs, working at IFH Foods in Florence, South Carolina, tractor trailer driver and Thomas Bus Company in High Point, North Carolina until he injured his back on the job.

Terry never met a stranger and you always knew he was in the “house.” He loved sports and was a die-hard Redskins fan - win, lose or draw. He was loyal to what he believed in and didn’t have a problem with showing it. He was an avid outdoorsman, loved to fish, ride bikes and travel, a pretty good carpenter, and handyman too.

Terry leaves to cherish his memory ~ his mother: Zedith Vinson of Philadelphia, PA; one son: Jerrick M. (Addellane) Stanton; one grand-daughter: Elena Stanton all of Dillon, SC; three brothers: Kelly, Kenneth and Mark Vinson all of Philadelphia, PA; one sister: Sherry Richardson of Philadelphia, PA; one uncle: Harris (Carmilla) Stanton of Dillon, SC; three aunts: Thelma Stanton, Mabel Cabbagestalk and Juanita Stanton; five nieces, one nephew; six great nieces; five close and dear friends: James Dunham, John Jones, Dexter Kelly, Earl McLellan and Dorothine Johnson and a host of other relatives and friends.
