God’s General, a true solider and Gospel Preacher, The Right Reverend Marvin Council Pitts Sr. of Adel, GA, “Papa” as he was affectionately called by many, received his wings on Wednesday, May 06, 2020 (two days after his 77th Birthday), with his bride, Mother Nettie Pitts, by his side in the privacy of their home. Rev. Pitts retired after many years of serving as Senior Pastor of the Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church (Sparks, GA). He served the church well and faithfully. Being led by the Lord, he united with Greater Pleasant Temple Missionary Baptist Church, where he was known as “The wisdom of the house” and Associate Pastor.
Public Viewing will take place at the funeral home on Friday, May 15, 2020 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Due to COVID-19 the family ask if you have any cards or condolences, please mail or deliver them to the funeral home.
Celebration of Life Legacy Services will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. Hosted by The Greater Pleasant Temple Missionary Baptist Church, but held at Miracle Temple First Born Church of The Living God, 620 North Elm Street - Adel, Georgia Bishop Freddie L. Camon, Pastor - Reverend Bernard L. Robinson Sr. will officiate.
For all celebratory events, please ensure you wear a facial covering and practice social distancing, the services have been limited and we ask that you’d make contact with the family for your attendance.

Take your rest, Mr. Tall, Dark, Handsome and Debonair... Reverend Marvin Council Pitts Sr. will be laid to rest in the Adel Cemetery.
There is a great loss in the earth realm with the passing of Reverend Pitts, but it’s heavens gain. He leaves a heart-broken and gaping hole in the lives of his family, community as well as his Greater Pleasant Temple Baptist Church Family (The Church he loved dearly).
