Sharon “Chick” Meeks was born on July 6, 1965 in Brooklyn, New York to the late Fannie Gilchrist Meeks and Sterling Peterson. Sharon transitioned to her heavenly home on Tuesday; May 4, 2020 at Pelican Health in Ashville, North Carolina.

She was educated at Lincoln High School in the Brooklyn, New York school system. She loved to smell good oil perfume. Chick will be missed by her family.

She was preceded in death by her mother: Fannie G. Meeks; her father: Sterling Peterson and her brother: Nesbitt Morton.

She leaves to cherish previous memories to her daughter: Christiana Meeks; one son: Shaun Sterling; Five sisters: Shirley Ann Hicks (Stacy), Neina Bland (David) both of Greenwood, South Carolina, Deborah D. Meeks, Marketta Meeks Barnwell (Ronnie) and Eugenia Meeks of Gastonia, North Carolina; one brother: Ernest Wade Meeks of Shelby, North Carolina; two aunts: Lillie Love of Winston Salem, North Carolina and Roberta Gilchrist of Gastonia, North Carolina and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

Memorial Service: Saturday; June 27, 2020; 11:30 a.m.; Center Baptist Church, Gastonia

Walk through visitation: thirty minutes before the service at the church
