To the Family of Chan "Somke". It has been a pure blessing to have known"Smoke". He did, in his short life, accomplish what life's goal should be. LIVE: to do this you must 1st be granted this through God's blessing of birth. Smoke was. LEARN: Smoke got his education formally and through life's experiences. And didn't just keep it to himself. He shared.... like it or not. LOVE: HE Loved his family...wife, children, fraternity brothers and life. LEAVE A LEGACY: Just look around you.... it's all of us...but in particular his Seeds. Much Love My Brother RQQ Randall Little 7-US-Fall83'

To Vonda, the girls,Ms. Barbara Jean and your entire family, we send our sincere condolences from the Carter family of Sylvester and from the Ga. Southern University Zeta Delta Delta chapter of OPP. Smoke was like a big brother to a lot of us in Sylvester. He was the first Que I ever encountered and his influence inspired me to pledge and when I did, fate would have it that I was a 5 dawg as well. My line brother and I called Chan to visit us before we crossed because we wanted his validation of his "homeboys". We have so much respect for Chan because of the fun loving person he was, always a laughing time when we where together. Going to miss my big bro, but we know God loves you more team! Rest easy 5 dawg, until we meet again! Much Love! -Derrick K. Carter 5 Spr. 98 ZDD.

Smoke! Man this came out of nowhere. I just want you to know I love you team and will never forget the times we had together. No matter what I was going through in life, you always gave me a positive outlook and made sure I was ok rather than judging me. Eventhough you crossed in the 80's you never forgot about us and always reminded us of how its supposed to be. From one 5 Dawg to another, I pray you RIH!!

This has been a hard one to soak in. Never in a million years would we have thought you would be gone this soon. The news was devastating to us all as everyone questioned what happened. You were a jewel in our eyes who was always the same person everytime we saw you. You brought alot memories, joy, and and laughter into our lives. Our sincere prayers goes out to Vonda, the children, and Chandra's entire Richardson family. Love The Class of 1985, Worth County High School.

Big Chandra, man this one is confusing for me. Life, as daughter often tells me, is simply a mystery. You leaving is beyond that. I can't wrap my mind around you being gone. I guess it was about 30 years ago when you and I thought we were the Alpha Males of the planet, let alone Fort Valley. Every time we saw each other we would have to wrestle until some one was pinned lol... I remember a couple of HCings ago we grabbed each other with joy and excitement and went at it again...for about two second until we both realized we were both in our 50s and our backs were not up for any of our foolishness! We laughed, hugged wished each other well. I will never forget how you treated everyone you met. You were a class act Sir and I will miss your greatness. I was so looking forward to getting you on with the Department of Juvenile Justice man! I told you before, you would be Great! Those young men would have loved you...just like I did. Job well done Sir....Hawk Holley.

What can I say? Vonda has been my sister from another mother for about 30 years now. And my brother Chan would always give me brotherly and sometimes hilarious advice. "Gooden... I like ole boy. Marcus good people. You did good," is what he said when he met my husband before we got married. :-) Although this is still so hard to believe, I am so honored God chose me as one of the many people to know and love Chan. I love you Vonda, Jordan, Sydney and family. May the fond memories comfort you day by day.

Vonda, you and Chandra were more like "family" than friends. I will forever be grateful for the times we shared during college, and even afterwards into in adulthood. It has been absolutely amazing watching your children accomplish so much. Please know that I am here for you should you need anything at all. Praying for you and your family! Love you, Angelika
