Obituary For Bobbie Jean Redmond

For I am already being poured out like a drink offering, and the time for my departure is near. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day- and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing. 2 Timothy 4: 6-8

Bobbie Jean Redmond was born August 25, 1951 in Vaiden, Mississippi to the late Earnestine and Chester Griffin. She was preceded in death by her sisters: Juanita Peeples and Annie Jane Griffin and brothers: Homer Griffin and Penny Griffin.

She confessed her faith in Christ at an early age. She was a faithful member of Greensborough Baptist Church and served under the leadership of Pastor Gregory Henderson. Bobbie served actively on the Mother's Board and loved to sing. She attended church faithfully until her health began to fail.

She was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Rev. JW Redmond in 1970 in Holmes County, Mississippi. To this union, four (4) children were born. JW Redmond preceded her in death.

She later remarried Mr. Charlie Rimmer, who has been a father figure to us all. We are forever grateful to have him as part of our family.

Bobbie Jean was an inspiration to her family and many in the community. She was never too busy to hold a conversation with the young or old about what was "right and wrong" and how far the Lord had brought her. She was loved by many.

The final chapter in the life of Bobbie Jean "Granny" Redmond ended on May 06, 2020 in Jackson, Mississippi as the Lord took her to a place of eternal rest. Bobbie passed into the great beyond to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Bobbie leaves to blossom her sweet and loving memories two daughters: Linda Faye Redmond of Canton, MS and Bobbie Denise Redmond of Carrollton, MS; two sons: James Griffin (Latoya) of Tyler, TX and JW Redmond Jr. (Tyronda) of Mobile, AL. She also leaves fifteen (15) grandchildren; fourteen (14) great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
