Dear Granddaddy, yesterday was strange no flowers no 21 gun salute no military standing in uniform to Honor your accomplishment as a prisoner of war(POW). Your children grandchildren and great grandchildren all came down from Tennessee, your daughter Shirley was there. Your family was here from Atlanta. But it was just weird because we could not give you the honors that you deserve. This COVID-19 has been such a weird place then I cried my eyes out when I got home because you deserve so much more. I looked down and I looked back up and they had you in the ground my heart just went to my knees. Granddaddy you can rest now knowing that in your final hour everybody that you loved show their respect and loved and was there to honor you. I pray that having had a window and you was able to see that your family came together and loved you on yesterday. Continue to rest and hopefully one day we were I'll see you again, good night my king love your Granddaughter Yolanda Scott

Granddaddy, I miss you so much . As I sit here now thinking of my childhood growing up with you all I have in my heart is smiles and laughter. You loved me unconditionally and you protect me with everything you had in me. I remember riding to white freight store in your white pick up truck with you and grandma, and I could get all the junk food I want it. The same way you took care of me as a child, you took care of my children Ashley & Robert (BJ). I am going to missed pulling in the driveway and you sitting in the window. I loved you here on each & I love you even more in heaven. Love you always Londa
