Mr. Javan Lester Smith, III, 67, of Shelby NC passed away on Sunday, May 10, 2020 at Wendover Hospice House in Shelby. He was born on July 25, 1952 in Cleveland County, NC to the late Javan Lester Smith, Jr. and Carrie Mae Hamrick Smith.

Javan completed his education at Shelby High School. He worked many years in textiles, maintenance and later years with O’ Max Gardner.

Javan is preceded in death by his father, mother, a sister and a brother.

Javan leaves to cherish a daughter, Pamela Edwards of Shelby and a host of brothers, sisters, relatives and friends.

The family will be meeting and receiving friends at 706 North Washington Street Shelby on Friday, May 15, 2020 from 1:00 PM until 5:00 PM.
