COMMUNITY VIEWING and Flower will be received Wednesday, May 19, 2020, 3:00 p.m. until 5:00.p.m. Thursday, May 20, 2020, from 9:30 a.m. to 12 Noon at Van Hoose & Steele Funeral Home, 2615 Stillman Blvd, Tuscaloosa, AL 35401.

GRAVESIDE SERVICE: Thursday, May 21, 2020, at 1:30 p.m., Rice Hill Cemetery, Northport, Alabama. Rev. Carlos Calhoun will officiate. Services Licensed by Van Hoose & Steele Funeral Home, Inc., under the direction of Mr. Maurice Sealy, Licensed Funeral Director #05600.

Mrs.Battle was my second grade teacher at Goins Ele.As a teacher,I remember her as no nonsense,strict but fair and loving!It was Mayday and we perform Ed the Mexican hat dance,my mom was a little late bringing my hat and I had a melt down but Mrs.Battle n classmates comforted me!She had a positive influence and touched many lives! You have my sympathy, heaven n all the angels are rejoicing!

To the Family of Mrs Ruby H. Battle I grew up on 15th Avenue in Northport living next door to "Ms Boochie" and yes she was a big part of that Village required to raise us all back then. I was in and out of her house with her children as much as I was mine. To know her was to know somebody very Special. She was always kind, thoughtful, gentle and caring. Unless you were in trouble. As difficult as this time seems now please know that my family and I are praying that you will find comfort in knowing that she will always be with you. She has definitely earned her wings.
