Fair, Mrs. Rebecca, A resident of Montgomery, AL departed this life on Wednesday, May 13, 2020. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, May 19, 2020 at 11:00 AM from New Center Cemetery, Pastor Henry Carnegie, officiating. Mrs. Fair will lie in repose on Monday, May 18, 2020 from 1-6PM from Phillips-Riley Funeral Home Chapel.

Mrs. Rebecca Shackelford Fair was born in Hope Hull (Egypt), Alabama on October 16, 1938 to the late Reddick and Rebecca Shackelford.

Deaconess Fair was a devoted member of Mount Gillard Missionary Baptist Church for well over sixty years where she was a faithful servant.

Becky retired after over forty years as the head baker starting at Ralston’s Bakery now known as Shashy’s.

She was preceded in death by her children, Tony and James (Maine) Fair, stepmother, Eliza Shackelford; siblings Rafe, Anne, Simon (Ba-Simon), Joseph (Joe), Renell (MyMy), Reddick Jr. (Big Pop), Hattie (TeeTaWee), and David (Lil-Maine).

Rebecca leaves to cherish her memories her husband of 60 years, Deacon Jesse Frank Fair Sr., children, Jesse Frank Fair Jr., Deacon Barbara Payne (Montgomery, Alabama), Brenda(LtCol Kenneth)Marshall, Lorton, Virginia, Jeanetta(James) Macon, Atlanta, Georgia, Sandra Fair, Rebecca(Cedric) McQueen, Montgomery, Alabama and TSgt (Ret) LaWanda (Darryl) Curry, Lorton, Virginia, God-son Darryl Seawright, Montgomery, Alabama, 15 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, siblings- James(Ruth)Shackelford, Janie Zimmerman, Montgomery, Al; Vinnie (Cleo) Cruder, Detroit, MI, Johnny (Rose) Shackelford, Gainesville, Fl.; brothers-in-law William Johnson, Sr., and John B Williams, Sr., Montgomery, AL., Ray Thomas & Algie Thomas Jr., Montgomery, Al., sisters-in-law Hattie Shackelford, Roberta Miner, Montgomery, AL and loving nieces, nephews, cousins and church family.
