Obituary For Diane Jackson Smith

Mrs. Diane Jackson Smith, 69

Diane Jackson was born on April 10, 1951, to the late Simmie F. Jackson, Sr. and Onna Mae Jackson. She departed this life on May 6, 2020 at South GA Medical Center, Valdosta, Georgia into the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Diane had a warm, vibrant personality and she never met a stranger. Diane’s hard work included toiling on the family farm, Ithaca Manufacturing; Morrison Cafeteria, Brooks County School District Bus Monitor and retiring from Lowe’s Distribution Center, Valdosta, Georgia.

She was a faithful member of New Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, and a dedicated choir member. Diane graduated from Washington Street High School, Quitman, GA, and attended Valdosta Technical College, Valdosta, GA.

Diane leaves to treasure her memory four children: William (Marissa) Smith, Kimberly Smith, Shanda White, and Taffaney Smith. Four grandchildren: Effaney, Jordan, Amara, and Jackson. One great-granddaughter, Camille; eight siblings: Faye Troutman, Brenda Jackson, Vivian Jackson, Gail Brown (Rufus), Simmie Jackson, Jr., Ann Reynolds (Bobby), Robin Jackson, and Darryl Jackson (Monica); aunt, Ora Lee Rhym; uncle, Ronald Rhym; loving relative Estella Brown and a host of relatives and loyal friends.

Services were rendered on Saturday, May 16, 2020 at New Macedonia Baptist Church cemetery in Morven, Georgia with Pastor Ralph White officiating. Condolences may be made and video streaming is available at stevensmcgheefuneralhome.com Stevens-McGhee Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
