My name is Jeff Eaton. I was thinking about Virgil and decided it was time to look him up. I learned of Virgil's passing when his picture showed up on Google when I typed his name in Google search. I joined the Army in 1983 and had the privilege of meeting Virgil in Basic Traing at Fort Leonordwood Missouri. Virgil became my one and only friend at basic training. I became a squad leader and ask Virgil to be my 2nd and he accepted. We shared a separate room together (out of the 64 man bays). We always talked about our family's and we always shared Jesus with each other and anyone willing to listen. Virgil stood by my side when my life was threatened by 4 young thugs from Michigan. Virgil had a beautiful heart and he had no fear of any man. I love you my brother and I am looking forward to seeing you once again when it's my turn to walk through the Fares of Heaven!

Been seeing him ever since I was a kid. Always had advice to give or he would just stop to talk for a bit. The river road isn't the same without him. Thank you Virgil for always giving us your words of wisdom. -CDH
