Obituary For Raymond Lamar "Stingray" Lane

Raymond Lamar Lane (affectionately known as “Stingray”) was the second child born to the parentage of Mildred Newsome and Jefferson Lane, Sr. He was born in Bell Glades, Florida. Graveside Services will be held Saturday, May 23, 2020 at 12 Noon at Hardeman Springfield Baptist Church Cemetery. Viewing will be held Friday, May 22, 2020 from 3:00 – 6:00 P.M. at Davis Funeral Home, Louisville, GA He received his formal education in Miami-Dade County Public School System. It was in school that Raymond developed a love of sports. He played football and started boxing. Placing his passion in boxing, Raymond would later become a trained boxer. Raymond gave his life to Christ at an early age. He had a true love for God and his family. Although, Raymond faced many obstacles in his life it was with God’s help that he was able overcome them all. If you knew Raymond, you knew that he was graced with an outgoing and witty spirit. He enjoyed family outings and telling life stories from his youth. In addition, he had a love for music and cooking. Raymond worked various jobs in Florida and Georgia, while working in Florida he was employed as a Labor of Construction and a member of the Local 478 Union. Later, he decided to move to Georgia. It was there he received employment at Lewis Steel in Louisville, Georgia as a Welder. It is with heartfelt sorrow that Raymond was preceded in death by his younger brother Jobbin “Tanka” Lane in 2014. Raymond leaves to cherish his memories; Wife: Teresa Lane, Children: Raymond Lane Jr., Shenna Fludd (Corey), Rayvon Lane, Erica White, Corrine Newsome and Whitley Boyd, Mother: Mildred Newsome, Father: Jefferson Lane Sr. Grandchildren: Nacey Davis, Raymond Lane III, Carter Lane, Kayuna Smith, Quincy White, Noyvar Johnson, Terrell Johnson, Raven Boyd and Taraji Mells, Great Grandchildren: London White, Sisters: Montress Eason and Greta Lane, Brother: Jefferson Lane(Terrie) Mother in Law: Gussie Hill, Brother in-laws: Wayne Braswell ( Yolanda), Tony Mitchell (Mary), Sister in–laws: Sherry Mitchell, Linda Hill and Wanda Howard (David), Aunts: Elder Minnie Lincoln, Betty Burr(Henry) and Smithie Jenkins, Uncle; Sam Lane (Yvonne), Great Aunt: Willie Mae Davis, a very dear friend Ericka, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and sorrowing friends. Davis Funeral Home, 725 Beech Street, Louisville, is in charge of arrangements for Mr. Raymond Lamar Lane.
