Obituary For Aletha Ray

The Obituary

On May 20, 2020, Althea M. Ray departed to her heavenly home. She was affectionately known as “ Faye” to all who knew and loved her.

Fay was born July 10,1953 in Attalla, AL to the late Bethel and Jessie Pearl Moragne Finley. At an early age, sister Faye confessed and accepted Christ as her lord and personal Savior. She was a devoted and proud member of Friendship Baptist Church where she faithfully on the Usher Board. After 20 years of service, Faye retired from Arrow shirt factory. Her most important job was being a mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She believed in the Lord, knew everything was in God’s hands, and wasn’t worried when God called her name on May 20, 2020 at Gadsden Regional Medical Center.

Faye was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Dorothea Ray, three sisters, Elaine Williams, Brenda Moragne and Denise Moragne and one brother, Bethel Moragne, Jr.

The legacy of her season is left to her two sons : Louie M. Ray, Jr. (Mercy ), Corpus Christi, TX, and Benjamin L. Ray ( Sonja) of Attalla, AL, three brothers, David Moragne, Sr. ( Sheila ) of Gadsden , AL ; Jimmy Moragne ( Karen ) and Sylvester Moragne of Attalla, AL, two sisters, Johnnetta Sayles ( Donald ) of Gadsden, AL and Robbie Palmore {James) of Attalla, Al. Nine grandchildren, Derrick Ray of Fort Stewart, GA, Talia Cole of Chandler, AZ, Shai Ogles of Rainbow City, AL, Benarius “ Jay” and Ty Ray of Birmingham, AL, Dewuan Ray, Seattle, WA, and Malik and Zacir Ray of Nashville, TN. Daughter by love, Tambra Penn, Attalla, AL. Two great grandsons, Jonah Parsons and Khylan Burrell and a host of nieces, nephew, other relatives and many dear friends.

Funeral services will be Sunday, May 24, 2020 at the Friendship Baptist Church, Attalla, AL @ 11:00am. Visitation: Saturday, 11am-6pm. Eulogist: Pastor Tyson Burwell. Arrangements under the direction of West Gadsden Funeral Home 256-549-0004
