Obituary For Richard Dixon

~ The Obituary ~

Richard Lee Dixon a.k.a “Kemp” was born September 21, 1943, to the late Jim and Lizzie Dixon. Richard received his education in the Brooks County School System. Richard accepted Christ as his Savior at an early age, and became a faithful and dedicated member and deacon of Sweetfield Missionary Baptist Church. Richard was employed as a dental assistant and construction worker until his health failed him.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories: A loving and devoted wife of 17 wonderful years, Rena Newsome-Dixon; daughter, Zondra Savage (Hayward) of Delaware. Once united with his eternal love, he gained a step-daughter, Phaedra Newsome of Quitman, GA; He was preceded in death by his siblings, Jimmy Lee Anderson (Freddy), Annie B. Walker (James), Lizzie Mae Outley (Warren), Idia Mae Riley (Albert), Lewis Dixon Sr. (Lillian); Wallace Dixon (Clara); and Willie James Dixon (Clara); five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grand, very special host of nieces and nephews that loved him beyond measure, along with other loving family and friends.

Funeral services will be Saturday, May 23, 2020 at 1PM at Sweetfield Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Thompson, eulogist. View our livestream on this website or our Stevens-McGhee Funeral Home facebook page.
