Obituary For Charles McClendon

Charles Franklin Delano McClendon, 20, of Palm Coast was born on May 19, 1999 to Charles McClendon and Shurtonda Anderson in Ormond Beach, FL. He attended school in the Flagler County School District. Charles was known as “ Lil Charles, Chuckie, and Charlie. He was dedicated to Christ at an early age at St. James Baptist Church Joined the House of Joy under the leadership of Pastor Alice Emanuel. Charles enjoyed fishing, drawing, playing video games and socializing with family and friends. Lil Charles never met a stranger. He laughed and talked with everyone.

He was preceded in eternal rest by his Paternal Grandparents, Arbie Sr and Ruby Dean McClendon; Maternal Grandparents, Jasper Jr and Patricia Anderson; Great-Grandmother, Mother Mary Jane Anderson; Uncles – Franklin Delano McClendon and Johnny Anderson; Aunt – Ruth Porter and God-Mother-Shalunda Butler.

He leaves to cherish his many memories, Devoted and Loving Parents who provided for his needs: Shurtonda Anderson and Charles McClendon; sister, Tanginique Graham; brothers, Edward Leroy Starke, Jr.; Capers McClendon and Jo’Vewn McClendon; uncle and aunts: Reginald Anderson, Sr.; Beulah Johnson; Leo Anderson; Mitchell Sims; Jimmie Dean Herring; Delores Jones; Larry Butler; Patricia Gilyard; Arbie McClendon, Jr.; Bertha Reddin; Leonard (Annette)Anderson ; Virginia (Larry) Anderson-Bines; James Hall; Joseph (Melsena) Anderson, Frances Hall and K.C. Godwin; Great Aunt: Lottie May Anderson; nieces, Olivia Rose and Heaven; God-Mother: Susan Gipson-Lucas; God-Father: Floyd Davis; Special Friends, Josiah, Scooby & Chad and a host of sorrowing cousins, relatives and friends including Deacon Joe Brown, Sr and Alfredo Graham and Special Uncle and Aunt Sinclair & Karen Collins, and Kammie Smith.

The family will receive friends and the community on Saturday, May 30, 2020 from 1:00p.m. - 2:00p.m. at Church on the Rock in Bunnell, FL. The Graveside service will be 2:30p.m. in Masonic Cemetery, Palm Coast, FL. If there is inclement weather, the service will be at the church and everyone is asked to wear masks.
