Mr. Demetrius Holman

Private funeral services were held for Mr. Demetrius Holman, 39, of 358 New Hope Road, St. Matthews, SC.

Mr. Demetrius Ansel Holman, was born on December 19, 1980 to Ms. Frances K. Holman and the late Mr. Gary B. Holman. He departed this earthly life on May 23, 2020. He was educated in the Calhoun County Public Schools, he attended Claflin University where he pursued a degree in Physical Education.

He was married to Ms. Kimberly M. Holman and to this union two children were born: DeAries L. Holman and Kaiden D. Holman.

He was employed by Zeus Industrial Products, Inc. as a Machine Operator. He was also a Certified EMT and Firefighter. His passion was mentoring young children and serving as a coach for the Young Saints Football Team.

He was preceded in death by his father, Mr. Gary B. Holman, and his maternal grandparents: Mr. and Mrs. John (Queen Ester) Keller and parental grandmother: Mrs. Mary H. Holman, and aunt Mrs. Judy (Will) Hopkins.

Demetrius leaves to cherish his fond memories, one daughter, DeAries Holman, one son, Kaiden D. Holman, his mother, Ms. Frances K. Holman, of St. Matthews, SC; one sister, Ms. Elisa Y. Holman of West Columbia, SC; grandfather, Berthroin Holman; one nephew, Mr. Rashard B. Bostick of St. Matthews, SC.; his aunts: Mrs. Everleen (Robert) McFadden, Mrs. Catherine (Melvin) Miller, Mrs. Gwendolyn (Calvin) Murph all of St. Matthews, SC, and Mrs. Stephanie Williams of Mauldin, SC; his uncles: Mr. Charles (Levet) Keller, Stockbridge, GA, Mr. Stanley (Adrienne) Holman, Fayetteville, GA, Mr. Tyrone (Boby Jean) Holman and Mr. Joe Kent Holman, both of St. Matthews, SC.

His memories will also be cherished by his special friend of the home, Ms. Byrdee White and her children: Aniyah Harley, Allanah Harley, Aaryn Harley and A.J. Harley.

Many fond memories will be cherished by a host of cousins, classmates and friends.

In an effort to adhere to COVID-19 precautions regarding social distancing, the family requests that friends do not visit the residence; however, condolences may be expressed via telephone to his mother, Frances Holman, at (803) 378-9545 or Simmons Funeral Home and Crematory of Orangeburg, SC. Immediate family may visit the residence, 358 Hope Road, St. Matthews daily between the hours of 4:00pm -8:00pm.
