Obituary For Emmit Laney

Mr. Emmit Laney, 87, of Seale, AL, passed on Monday, May 25, 2020 in Seale, AL.

A private service will be held on Saturday May 30, 2020. Public visitation will be Friday, May 29, 2020 from 1-5 p.m. EST.

Mr. Emmit Laney was born April 8, 1933 in Russell County to the late William Laney Sr. and Minnie Laney.

Mr. Laney retired from West Point Pepperall Mill in 1994. He was a member of Pleasant Grove A.M.E Church where he served as a trustee until his health failed.

He leaves to cherish his memories two daughters,Linda Mitchell, of Seale, AL and Juanita (Lee) Feagins, of Columbus, GA; two sons, Charlie Laney of Seale, AL and Andy McGee of Columbus, GA; one sister Estelle Key of Seale, AL; three brothers, Robert (Loise) Laney of Birmingham, AL William ( Hattie) Laney of Phenix City, AL and Paul (Willie Mae) Laney of New Jersey;18 grandchildren;30 great-grandchildren; two special friends Emma Sumbry and Evone Dotson; and a host of relatives and friends.

You were always present at our Dixon-Lewis family reunions, wherever they were held (Alabama, Georgia, Indiana, Ohio, Texas, Oklahoma). Always supportive, smiling and usually the first one to respond. Rest in Peace. We will miss you.
