Obituary For Ernestine Cobb

ERNESTINE COBB, the tenth child of thirteen children born to the union of the late Lester Cobb, Sr. and the late Romie Wright Cobb, was born on Wednesday, January 15, 1936 in Reidsville, North Carolina. Her family migrated to Steelton, Pennsylvania and later to Harrisburg, where she completed her formal education at the former John Harris High School with the class of 1954. In 1967, Ernestine relocated to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where she became an employee of the University of Pennsylvania Law School and retired as an Administrative Assistant for the Dean of Students Department. While employed at PENN, she furthered her education by attending the University’s Wharton School of Business. Upon retirement, she returned and remained in Harrisburg. As a member of the Emanuel Church of God in Christ, Ernestine served faithfully on the Celestial Choir until her health began to decline. She was known as a stylish dresser with beautiful hats for every occasion. On Tuesday, May 19, 2020 at the Gardens of West Shore in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania, Ernestine Cobb, at the age of 84 years, 4 months and 5 days, transitioned from this earthly life into eternal life. She leaves to celebrate her life and to cherish precious loving memories of her; her sisters, Audrey Lovett, Bernice Cobb and Elizabeth Cobb; a devoted niece, Annette Barlow, all of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. “Aunt Teenie”, as she was affectionately known, has left fond, fun and unlimited memories for a host of nieces, nephews and cousins of her 3rd, 4th and 5th generation that will always be cherished.

Ernestine's life will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 27 in the Chapel of Major H. Winfield Funeral Home, 704 N. Front St., Steelton, PA. The viewing and visitation is 11:30 a.m. followed by The Funeral Service at 12 Noon and burial in Paxtang Cemetery. Due to COVID-19 attendees must wear masks and practice social distancing.

Deepest condolences to the family . I just heard about Sweet Teen today after reading Mashaun's post to pray for her family. I still have two of the different flowers she made from some of Emanuels annual days, she was so talented. She gave me a few pointers on crafting and I cherish my memories of her. R. I. P. Dear Teen
