Obituary For Shirlene McCollum

Ms. Shirlene McCollum, 76, died Tuesday, May 26, 2020. Memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 5, 2020 at Perry Spencer Funeral Home Memorial Chapel, Madison, NC.

Shirlene affectionately known to all as Shirley was born February 4, 1944 and departed this life on Tuesday, May 26, 2020 after a brief illness. She was preceded in death by her mother, Dorthy M. Reynolds. Shirley's formative years were spent in Eden, NC, where she was educated in the local public school system. Shirley later moved to Washington, DC where she spent the majority of her life. She was employed by George Washington University until her retirement. Upon retiring she relocated to Eden, NC and attended The New St. Paul Baptist Church where she served until her health began to fail. Shirley had a personality that endeared her many friends. She never met a stranger and would share her many talents with anyone. She was a master at sewing and making jewelry of which she spent most of her time. We thank God for her beautiful life and precious memories. She leaves to cherish precious memories, her daughter; Shirlene Brim, grandson; Telvin Brim, great grandson; Zayvion Brim, aunts; Ruby Jones, Mary Smith, Marion McCollum, uncles; Bishop William Mc Collum and Alfonza McCollum, neices, nephews and friends.
