Obituary For John Tate

Mr. John Larry Tate, 65, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, May 23, 2020 in Lancaster, SC. He was the son of the late Waddell Robinson Tate, Sr. and Alice Dye Tate. Larry joined Bright Light Baptist Church at an early age and later joined Second Calvary Missionary Baptist Church.

Larry was a 1975 graduate of Andrew Jackson High School and a 2015 graduate of the School of Broadcast. He retired from Springs Industries in 1998.

Larry was predeceased by three brothers, Theodore Tate, Waddell Tate, and Walter L. Drakeford.

Left to cherish his memories are six sisters, Geraldine T. Flowers (David) of Heath Springs SC, Eloise T. Perry of Virginia Beach, VA, Hattie T. Grant of Heath Springs, SC, Cheryl T. Wade of Charlotte, NC, Angela T. Jones (Bruce) of Lancaster SC, and Isabelle Watts (Phil) of Fort Mill, SC; three brothers, Carl F. Tate of Paterson, NJ, Willie J. Tate of Charlotte, NC, and Jerry Patterson of Lancaster, SC.; one uncle, Olden C. Tate (Katherine) of Lancaster, SC.; two sisters in law, Fannie M. Tate of Lancaster, SC and Amanda J. Tate of Lancaster, SC; and a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Funeral Service will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 30, 2020. Service will be conducted by Reverend Jerusha Gaither and Reverend Eddie Moore.
