I met Avis a few ago (and later Harriet, Lorne, Britney, LJ and so many others) and from that meeting Avis was always kind to me. When she heard I was coming to Enfield to visit she always made sure to bake a cake and ensured that I received a few slices. I will always remember her kindness. RIP my cousin. Paulette

Dearest Brinkley Family, we extend our deepest heartfelt condolences for the loss of Sister Avis. This week the world has grown little bit colder and darker as another warm, loving and kind light has gone out. However we are thankful she came this way and urge you to forever keep her alive in your hearts and memories, until we all meet again at that great gathering on the other side. Be strengthened and encouraged for, "weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning." May our Heavenly Father continue to smile upon, richly bless, strengthen and keep you all, as you go through these trying times, and the days yet to be. We are praying for you. Our Heartfelt Regards, Deacon Levi and Sister Dianne Scott, Plumbline United Holy Church, Enfield, NC 27823

I'll miss seeing Avis, I didn't see her very often, every now and then we'd run into each other at the supermarket; but I was just speaking of her this week - about what a sweet spirit she had. When my father was alive it wasn't uncommon for her to make him one her homemade cakes. Let me tell you there wasn't a more precious gift he could have received from her! No matter when you met her you We're met with a smile and I truly can say she never changed! I've been knowing her all my life and she has always just been a 'true jewel" Cousin Delphine,
