Obituary For Gwendolyn Stanley

Gwendolyn A. Stanley, 86, of Harrisburg, transitioned into eternal life on Sunday, May 24, 2020 at Spring Creek Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.

She was born in Louisville, KY, daughter of the late Raymond and Dora (Moran) Stone, a former employee of Tri-County and Capital Area Head Start, a former member of Bethel A.M.E. Church of Lancaster and Bethel A.M.E. Church of Harrisburg, where she served both Churches on the Stewardess Board, Missionary Society and Choir and was Area President of Philadelphia Conference Missionary Society and presently a member of Goodwin Memorial Baptist Church of Harrisburg.

Gwendolyn was the widow of Milton Stanley, Sr. and leaves to celebrate her life, her five children, Milton Stanley, Jr., Rev. Michael Stanley, Wayne Stanley, Karen Slaughter and Rev. Jacqueline Stanley; her 18 grandchildren; her 23 great-grands and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Her life will be celebrated on Monday, June 1 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Major H. Winfield Funeral Home with viewing 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. (Covid-19 guidelines will be observed with masks and six-foot social distancing for all attendees) and burial in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
