Obituary For Johnny B. Kindrex, Sr.

Mr. Johnny Kindrex, 86, of Phenix City, AL, passed Friday, May 29, 2020 in Montgomery, AL.

A private service will be held Saturday, June 6, 2020. Public visitation will be Friday, June 5, 2020 from 12-5 p.m. EST.

Johnny B. Kindrex, Sr., was born in Hatchechubbee, AL on January 23, 1934, to Sallie Lamar and Arthur Kindrex, Sr. He went home peacefully at Baptist Hospital in Montgomery, AL on May 29, 2020, at the age of 86.

Brother Kindrex confessed his belief in Jesus Christ at an early age and joined Shady Grove A.M.E. Zion Church in Hurtsboro, AL, where he served faithfully until his health failed.

He worked at Southland Chemical Company, Columbus, GA and also Alfa Housekeeping.

Brother Kindrex was preceded in death by four siblings, Arthur Kindrex, Jr., Geneva Chandler, L.K. Kindrex and Darry Kindrex.

He leaves to cherish his memories three awesome sons, Johnny B. Kendricks, Jr. and Rodney Leonard both of Hurtsboro and Kennedy B. Fortson of Phenix City, AL; two sisters, Ethel Jean (Ozell) Gary, Hatchechubbee, AL and Lula Rogers, Hurtsboro, AL; four grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; five nephews; a host of nieces who were the daughters he never had and other relatives and friends.
