Obituary For Carl Lewis Hill

A home going celebration for Carl Lewis Hill, 71, will be 12:00 pm on Saturday, June 6, 2020, at Rocky Zion Church Cemetery. Pastor Lonnie Orr will officiate. Visitation will be held from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Friday, June 5, 2020, at the funeral home.

Mr. Carl Lewis Hill began his earthly journey on was born on Monday, April18, 1949, to the union of Cicero Hill and Mary Moore Hill in Birmingham, Alabama.

Mr. Hill was a member of Christ In Me Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Lonnie Orr. He was a graduate of Rosedale High School in Homewood, Alabama. Professionally, Mr. Hill was employed with Nicholson Manufacturing Limited for a number of years. Carl never met a stranger. He enjoyed life, frying fish and was a bit of a social butterfly. He united in holy matrimony with the former Rinner Joyce Forman in 1973 and rekindled their love for each other in April, 2012.

Carl began his eternal journey on Saturday, May 30, 2020, at St. Clair St. Vincent’s Hospital. He was preceded in death by her wife, Rinner J. Hill; his parents, Cicero and Mary Hill; and a sister, Mattie Moore.

He leaves to cherish his memories: two daughters, Selina (James) Evans and Leslie (Corey) Hill Green of Pell City, Alabama; a son, Carl L. E. (Victoria) Hill of Pell City, Alabama; eleven grandchildren, Yazmine (Edward) Hill Mitchell, Jessica Hill, Laila Green, Landon Green, Kardaryl Barrell, Carnecia Carter, Corltorriaa Hill, Latoria Staples, Zali (Asa) Israel, Alexis Staples and Jaccorrie Staples; eleven great grandchildren, Jamiriah Hill, Zaniya Mitchell, Zamarii Mitchell, Kason Staples, Harley Staples, JaRaina Joyce Hill, Dallas Swain, Chayah Israel, Asaih Israel, Kardaryl Barrell, Jr. and Kaylani Barrell; one aunt, Jaratha Walker of Lansing, Michigan; three sisters, Jaratha Dates, Pamela Cochran and Annette (Ted) Richardson of Pell City, Alabama; one sister-in-law, Cheryl Forman of Pell City, Alabama; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
