Obituary For Anita J. Charity

Anita J. Charity, known as "Nita", age 86, of Charles City, VA was born on July 1,1933. Nita transitioned from earth to glory peacefully at her home on Friday, May 29, 2020.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel, Sr. in 1993; son, Daniel, Jr. in 1984; granddaughter, Anita in 1979; and great-niece, Tychelle in 2017.

Together they owned a family business, "Charity's Nursery". Nita worked as the Bookkeeper and maintained the Nursery for many years. Customers would admire the beautiful large baskets of hanging flowers and tomato plants. Not only was Nita busy with the Nursery, but, a great cook as well, "best potato salad".

Nita was active at the Gilfield Baptist Church serving as an Usher and on the Kitchen Committee. She was the oldest working member for the Charles City Missionary Kitchen. She loved and enjoyed being with her grandchildren and they loved her.

Nita leaves to cherish her most precious memories, her daughter, Valerie Hill (James); son; Maurice Charity, two devoted granddaughters, Marchelle Hampton and Brandi Flowers (Charles); four great-grandchildren, Christian, Antoine, Carter and Caitlyn; a sister- in-law, Cecilia Anderson; a devoted niece, Chanel Livingston; a devoted friend, Florence Silver; and many extended family members, friends, and her adorable feline friends, fondly, Melanie.
