Mr. Christopher Lamar Walker was taken home to be in God’s care on Monday, May 25, 2020. His funeral will be held 1:00PM on Thursday, June 4, 2020 at Woodard Funeral Home Chapel. Visitations will start 30min prior tot the service at the chapel. Interment will follow in Lakeview Memorial Park.

He was born in Guilford County on November 29, 1960 to Fred and Beth Helen Walker. Chris graduated from Dudley High School. After graduation from Dudley, he faithfully worked at Golden State. He was employed there since August 23, 1981.

Chris was married to Althea M. Walker. To this union, three children were born: Alethea, Catherine, and Chris, Jr. Chris served as a faithful member of Refreshing Word Church. He was ordained as a deacon of the Church on April 8, 2018. He faithfully attended Bible study and worship services. As a child, Chris was a member of East White Oak AME Zion Church. Chris loved to read scriptures and he also liked working on cars.

Chris leaves to cherish his memory and to celebrate his life two daughters, Alethea M. Walker, and Catherine L. Walker; one son, Christopher L. Walker, Jr; one brother, Frederick Walker, Jr. (Vanessa); three sisters, Cheyenne Huntley, Oppera Huntley, and Paula Townsend (Harold); five grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
