Ernest Eugene Bobo, 73, entered into eternal rest at The Landrum Hospice House, on June 1, 2020. He was born February 2, 1947 to the late Vernon Waverly and Clara Lucille Anderson Bobo. He was affectionately known as "Gene".

Eugene received his formal education in Spartanburg County. He attended Ben Bomar Elementary School in Inman, SC and Lincoln High School in Fairforest, S.C.

Eugene joined Upper Shady Grove Baptist Church at an early age and was an active member of the Youth Choir, under the direction of Mrs. Alice McDowell.

During his early 20's, Eugene relocated to Hartford, Connecticut. During his time in Hartford, he attended New England Tractor Training School, where he completed training to become a tractor trailer driver. He drove throughout New England as a long-distance driver for two years.

Eugene returned to Inman in the late seventies and was employed for many years at Firestone Tire Company and Blachelders-Blaziers, until his health declined. When he was able, he would spend many days working as an auto mechanic for family, friends, and neighbors and came to be known as "Mr. Handy Man". Other hobbies included gardening and fishing as some of his favorite pastimes.
