Obituary For Charles William Carelock

Charles W. Carelock, 88, of Harrisburg, transitioned into eternal life on Saturday, May 30, 2020 at Frey Village in Middletown. He was born in Steelton, son of the late Clayton, Sr. and Lillian (Monroe) Carelock, a graduate of the Old Steelton High School, a U. S. Air Force Veteran of the Korean War, retired from the former New Cumberland Army Depot, a member of the Cathedral Parish of Saint Patrick Catholic Church, a member of Cyrene Lodge Temple #169 I.B.P.O.E. of W. and his leisure, he enjoyed Computers, Military Memorabilia and Model Trains. In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in transitioning by his seven siblings, George Carelock, Mary Maddox, Marguerite Neal, Jessie Powell, Clayton Carelock, Jr., Betty "Bussie" Humes and Anna B. Chambers and leaves to celebrate his life, his two sons, Eric C. and Kim R. (Jan) Carelock; his five grandchildren, Jace Carelock, Brielle Carelock, Nastasha Foster, Chlesea (Phillip) Washington and Daysha Foster; three great-grands, Carter Carelock, Larondo O. Tucker III and Laryn Tucker. Charles was eagerly awaiting the July arrival of his 4th great-grandchild, Skyleace Birdie Washington. He also leaves to celebrate his life, several beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family. Charles' family would like to thank Compassionate Care Hospice, specifically social worker, Kathy; Barb, RN and Lori his devoted and faithful caregiver for providing impeccable, loving care for our father. We are incredibly grateful for the advocacy, care and compassion given to Dad by Crystal, LPN at Frey Village. His life will be celebrated on Friday, June 5th at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Major H. Winfield Funeral Home, Steelton with viewing 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. and private burial in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. Covid 19 guidelines will be observed with masks and six foot distancing for all attendees.
