Mrs. Dorothea Williams, 60, of Salem,AL, passed Friday, June 5, 2020 in Phenix City, AL.

A private service will be held Friday, June 12, 2020. Public visitation will be Thursday, June 11, 2020 from 12-5 p.m. EST.

Dorothea Ann (Echols) Williams came into this world on July 24, 2020. Her mother was Mrs. Alberta Echols. She was raised by her Aunt, the late Fannie M. Florence. Dorothea returned home to heaven on June 5, 2020.

Dot (as most would call her) was born and raised in Phenix City, Al. This town became a better place because she was in it. She left an impression on all who came into contact with her. Dot's presence took over a room. Her beauty and her smile were enough to captivate anyone who saw her. But it was her personality and laughter that gave her a permanent residence in our hearts. Dot genuinely loved people. She would give all of herself to help with no expectations to receive anything in return. She was a woman of God and it showed through her actions. Everything she did, she did in service to the Father. She was a phenomenal wife, mother, and grandmother who will be missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her one sister, Annie Pearl Rembert; three brothers, Lugene Echols, Frank Echols and Michael Echols; one sister-in-law, Bernell Samuel; father-in-law, Fletcher Williams.

She is survived by her husband of almost 41 years, Phillip Williams, Salem, AL; two sons, Phillip "Shawn" (Amy) Williams, Kilgore, TX and Justin Williams, Salem, AL; the apple of her eye, her granddaughter, Alexandria Williams, Kilgore, TX; two sisters, Bernice Hartman, Newark, New Jersey and Maxine Chattman, Colorado; one brother, Donnie (Tammy) Echols, Phenix City, AL; Dot's brothers and sisters-in-law, Stephanie Echols, Phenix City, AL, Bernice Echols Crosby, Phenix City, AL, Catherine Morain, Philadelphia, PA, Willie B. Samuel, Denver, Colorado, Eva Williams, Phenix City, AL, Bernice Rutledge (Larry), Phenix City, AL Marilyn Freeman (Rusty), Vestavia, AL, Fletcher (Shirley) Williams, Phenix City, AL and Gilbert (Juanita) Williams, Phenix City, AL; mother-in-law, Thelma Williams, Phenix City, AL and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and many loving friends.
