Rayshard was like a son to my wife and I. He actually stayed with us for a few months. I'm 62 years old and we had some very serious talks. He was such a respectable young man. All he talked about was his wife and children. And we talked alot about his relationship with his brother, Stanley ( Baby Boy.) Who was always there for him. It's sad that his siblings had no input with the service. " God is so unhappy with the family structure!" We miss u you Rayshard.Rev John and Gwen Ward and Awaiting His Return Ministries l

Tomika & The Brooks' family: Although we have never met, I am grieving with and for you. Praying for the Lord to comfort & heal your hearts and wounds. It is hard to find the words to express the feelings surrounding the loss of Mr. Brooks except anger, pain, sorrow. My heart aches for his wife and his daughters. I am writing this with my deepest sympathies. We never met as I am in NC, grew up in NY. A mom of 3. Once in NC, adjusting to segregation, racism, hate, systemic racism, profiling, injustices & cycles of oppression & poverty hasn't happened. I didn't grow up with it as a norm, it's abnormal & it has to stop. I grew up knowing people are people, equity, equality, & we all deserve the same - the same everything. It's issues like this and injustices that led me to do the work I do. While my kids watch. Speaking about racism & do it even if it plants a seed that it's inhumane, not Christian, not American. It makes the majority uncomfortable, one may or will lose friends, but we cannot stop. A race war is what we need to end. One from day one. Seeing Mr. Brooks on camera replays in my mind and it's my hope that we gain enough support & advocates to see policing standards change; equity in hiring who is in authority, & consequences for taking lives away. I plan to support & advocate. I listened to his interview & what he said needs to come true...mentors, not a police state, not take away, individuality, not animals, and authorities need to take into account a family they are separating - the kids, the effects & all truth he shared from his heart. I lift you all up in prayer & justice each day. You have our support and love; and we are here for anything. There's strength in numbers. May the Lord cover you & keep you. He will fight for you all. - D'Anna Family (Toni)

To the Brooks Family: In this difficult time in your life, may you find comfort in God's Word, the Bible. Psalm 147:3 assures us "He heals the brokenhearted; He binds up their wounds." May your memories of the time spent with Rayshard bring you peace and joy, as you reflect on all the good times you shared together.
