Obituary For Elijah Hudson

Elijah “Hut” Hudson, Sr., 82, of Hastings, FL was born on Saturday, September 25, 1937 to the Late Elder Smith Hudson and Gladys Stanley Hudson in Camilla, Georgia (Mitchell County). He graduated from Walter E. Harris High School, Class of Nineteen Hundred Fifty-Seven located in Hastings, Florida. Elijah enlisted in the military joining the 101st Airborne Division in the Army receiving an honorable discharge. After retiring from the military, he became a Migrant Crew Leader traveling up and down the East Coast. Elijah also worked in the Sod business working with Florida Carter in Jacksonville, Florida. Elijah was affiliated with Mount Moriah Baptist Church located in Hastings, Florida. Elijah enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was an avid Florida State Seminoles fan.

Those left to cherish his memories: 3 sons; Elijah (Latonya) Hudson Jr., Jacksonville, FL; Nathan Hudson, Orlando, FL; Ke’Darrius Hudson, West Palm Beach, FL; and 6 daughters; Scharlene Hudson Williams, Foley, AL; Ashaki Hudson, San Diego, CA; Sheki Hudson, McRay, GA; Lakita Hudson, Ocala, FL; Ebony Goff, Hastings, FL; Tierra Goff, Hastings, FL. 2 sisters, Rev. Dr. Lizzie Simmons, Jacksonville, FL and Evangelist Mary Parker, Bushnell, FL. 22 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and sorrowing friends.

The family will receive the community and friends from 6:00p.m. – 8:00p.m. Friday, June 26, 2020 at Coleman’s Mortuary Family Chapel. The Homegoing Celebration will be 11:00a.m. Saturday, June 27, 2020 at Harvest Time Evangelistic Ministry, Elder Christopher T. Coleman, Pastor and eulogist. The Burial will be 11:30a.m. Monday, June 29, 2020 at The National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL.
