Obituary For Pastor Patrick E. Stanton

Pastor Patrick Stanton age 52 passed away on Thursday June 18, 2020 at Summit Medical Center.

Pastor Patrick Edward Stanton was born August 4, 1967 in St. Louis Missouri to the late Charles Edward Stanton and Lois Teresa Stanton. He departed this life on June 18, 2020. He was married on June 2, 1990 to Tabitha Jernigan Stanton his friend and love of his life. Patrick attended Lakeview Elementary School, Mt. Juliet Middle School, Mt. Juliet High School and Tennessee State University. Like his father, Patrick excelled in both baseball and football. He played right field in baseball and linebacker in football. His number was 59. Patrick was very passionate about sports and cars and could talk shop with the best of them. Patrick never met a stranger and had a smile that lit up the room and would engage everyone in his presence. In addition to pastoring Howards Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Goodlettesville, TN., a church that he loved and cherished, he umpired for the MJ League and refereed football until his health failed him. These were not just occupations to him but hobbies. He loved being around the young people and the parents that he served in the Mt. Juliet and Nashville communities. He loved coaching his daughters and their friends in softball and prided himself in being able to bring out the best in the girls that he coached.

Patrick leaves to cherish his memory his wife Tabitha Yvette Jernigan Stanton wife of 30 years, biological daughters Blake Alexis Stanton and Blair Alexandra Stanton, sister Jacqueline SueAnn, surrogate children Tabitha (Chris) Daggs, Shelby Carter, Victoria Buckman, Ferral Ponder, every child he coached, mentored, or pastored, faithful Aunts and Uncle Wayne and Janice McHolland, Geraldine (Jerome) Clark, cousins like siblings Wayne McHolland Jr., Natasha (Erroll) Groves, and Marcus Watson. Father in law John Jernigan, Mother in law Maxine Jernigan, Brothers in law Tremont Jernigan (Stephanie) and Troy Jernigan, Sister in law DeAnna Young and the members of Howards Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, a host of nieces, great nieces, nephew, great nephews, cousins, and friends.

On Thursday, June 25, 2020 there will be a DRIVE BY MEMORIAL (His remains WILL NOT BE PRESENT) for Patrick from 4-6:00pm at Howards Chapel MB Church 7665 South Swift Rd. Goodlettsville Tn. 37072

Friday, June 26, 2020, Family Visitation from 4-6:00pm at JC Hellum Funeral Chapel.

Saturday, June 27, 2020, Family Visitation from 12-12:45 with Drive In Service to follow at 1:00pm at the above named chapel.

Patrick and my husband ( Bubba) use to work together and they would ride to work together some morning then as the years went by our Churches started having Thanksgiving Community Service and let me tell you Bro Patrick can PREACH! You could feel Heaven Glory all over you and the Church Howard's Chapel was Honored to have him as y'all Pastor just like Friendship we was Honored to know him and his Church and we know how the Church feels we lost our beloved Pastor a few months ago Bro David they both are having the time of there life they just started living so we must carry on with what they taught us and keep spreading the Good News of JESUS what can wash away my sins Nothing but the Blood JESUS! To the Stanton family we are Praying for you all and we love y'all and the Church it's not good bye it's see ya later we will see them again very soon! God and JESUS Bless you all! Pastor Stanton many of you know him as but to me he wss Patrick or Rip. When I moved to the area back in the late 70s he was the 1st perdon to come greet me and say hello when no one else would talk to me....He was one of my very few and best friends..The lord has called him to glory he will truly be missed...My condolences to the family... When i moved to mt juliet in high school i knew no one by 11th grade most people already have a circle of friends where a new and handicapped gorl just dont fit in too well but Patrick made me feel welcome and accepted I never forgot this and im really saddened by the news of his passing but i know he will have a huge starin his crown fly high patrick.
