Obituary For Jimmie Smart

~OBITUARY~

"I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord the righteous judge, shall give me at that day"...

Mr. Jimmie Smart son of the late Effie Mae Smart and Jessie Smart, Sr. was born in Hampton County, South Carolina on September 13, 1944. At an early age Jimmie professed Christ as his Personal Savior and became a baptized member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Gifford, South Carolina.

He was educated in the public-school system of Hampton County. Upon graduation Jimmie began working in construction. He could construct and build anything.

Jimmie never met a stranger, and he would start a conversation with anyone, he met. Conversations that sometimes resulted in him providing some type of assistance to the many people he met.

During his leisure time Jimmie enjoyed cooking for his family and friends. He adored everyone.

Jimmie departed this life on Thursday, June 25, 2020, at Regional Medical Center, Orangeburg, South Carolina.

In addition, to his parents, he is preceded in death by: (1) son: Keith Roberts; (2) sisters; Lillie Ruth Smart, and Carrie Smart; (5) brothers; Jessie Smart, Jr., Roosevelt Smart, Cashoos Smart, Willie Smart, and Rogers Smart.

His departure on Thursday, June 25, 2020 has left a tremendous void in the live of his beloved daughters; Latisa Mitchell and Melissa Garvin, both of Fairfax, South Carolina; (2) Grandsons; Richard Garvin, Fairfax, South Carolina and Keith Roberts, Jr., Columbia, South Carolina; (1) devoted friend whom he cared for as his daughter, Lolita (Darryl) Young, Fairfax, South Carolina; (1) Special niece; Shanajee Devore, Fairfax, South Carolina; (2) Special friends; Henry Singleton (Champ), Allendale, South Carolina and Willie Forrester (Hayes), Fairfax, South Carolina; A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and loving friends.

Graveside Services were held Monday, June 29, 2020, 1:00 P.M.; at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery; Gifford, SC; Rev. Glenn Orr, Officiating.
