Obituary For Mrs. Hettie Lewis Margerum Moore

Mrs. Hettie Lewis Moore was born July 2, 1925 in Crawfordsville, Arkansas to Lewis and Fairy Ephraim Margerum. A lifelong member of the Church of God In Christ, Mrs. Moore was the wife of Superintendent John Moore, Jr. and served as the First Lady at Nehemiah Temple Church of God in Christ in Blytheville, Arkansas as well as Jones Temple Church of God in Christ in Gilmore, Arkansas. Mrs. Moore was a dedicated member of Promiseland Church of God in Christ. There she served as a Mother of the Church and a faithful member of the Women’s Missionary Society. She and her husband were the owners of Deluxe Cleaners for 28 years. Mrs. Moore was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son, Julius R. Moore, and a daughter Janava Moore. Mrs. Moore passed away Thursday, June 25, 2020 at NEA Baptist Hospital in Jonesboro, Arkansas at the age of 94. Mrs. Moore leaves to forever cherish her memory four sons, Frederick (Jean) Moore of Blytheville, Arkansas; Norvell Moore, Marietta, Georgia; Superintendent Johnny ( Anita) Moore of Blytheville, Arkansas; and Benjamin (Annette) Moore also of Blytheville, Arkansas; four daughters, Carol Washington of Blytheville, Alfreda ( Emos) Parham of Aroura, Colorado; and Precious Moore of Blytheville, Arkansas and a very special daughter Earnestine Ray also of Blytheville, Arkansas; one sister, Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Robinson of St. Louis, Missouri; 23 grandchildren, many great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. A walk-through visitation will be held Friday, June 26, 2020 from 5:00 until 7:00 at McDonald-Horne Funeral Home, 1207 South Division Street, Blytheville. Funeral services for Mrs. Moore will be conducted Saturday, June 27, 2020 at 3:00 p.m. at Promiseland Church of God in Christ, 2141 Hwy 61 Osceola, Arkansas. Superintendent Johnny L. Moore will deliver the eulogy with burial being Monday, June 29, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at Whiteside Cemetery in Osceola, Arkansas. In accordance with the State of Arkansas COVID-19 guidelines, the practice social distancing of 6-feet will be observed. Face masks are REQUIRED to be worn by all family and friends attending the walk-through visitation and the funeral service. McDonald-Horne Funeral Home is in charge of all services and arrangements.
