I am just learning of the death of my dear friend. I am in shock and disbief beyond words. Our friendship started at the University of Georgia. When we left Georgia, our friendship developed into a friendship where we didn't need to talk to each other every day and when we did talk or get together, it was as if we had never gone months without talking or being togther. It is with a tremendously heavy heart that I make this post. Girl, I am missing you terribly. The world has lost a beautiful, selfless soul. My deepest condolences to the Allen family. I feel your sorrow and pain. You are in my prayers. - Debora Fryer Petett

My cousin was a bright light. Her smile and laugh were joyful. I was the city cousin who couldn't wait to go down south to have my uncle fate give us a ride along dirt roads in the back of his pick-up. My dad bolstered with joy when alfredia entered the military. I remember shopping all day when alfredia graduated the academy. We had to find the perfect calculator to celebrate her success.Of course, that was before cell phones dominated. I still have a picture of our little family driving to New Jersey from New york to see alfredia graduate. You are never ready for such a loss. You always think there will be a tomorrow. I pray my family strength and that alfredia's memory will one day soothe the pain of her loss. I love you family. Gigi

When I first came to FEMA I'd heard so many good things about Ms. Alfredia and asked if she wouldn't mind training me while in the Intern Program. She smiled and said ok and from that day on in 2014 she never left my side. She was a great teacher. She gave me allot of work and life lessons that I will hold onto forever. We had so many fun times and good conversations. I dearly love her and she will forever be missed. I pray that God will comfort her family. Keisha Pullen-Perry

I worked with Alfredia at FEMA, we started there around the same time... We banded together with another one of our co-workers for lunch. We either went to NASA HQ or the sandwich shop around the corner. We both ended up at DHS HQ and would pick up like we were back at FEMA when we saw each other in the hallway. I'm totally shocked, sending my incere condolences to her family and friends.

Dear Family I'm so deeply sorry for the loss of Alfredia, and please accept my condolences. Alfredia and I worked together at FEMA, she was a dear friend and I always enjoyed talking with her, we always had enjoyable conversations, meaningful, and lots of laughter, Alfredia and I both had knee problems and we would always know when the rain was coming and we would just chuckle about that, I'm going to truly miss her presence and having our conversations, however, I know that she's in a better place with our Heavenly Father RIP Alfredia, Fondly, Antoinette

Alfredia, I will truly miss you. Our birthdays are four days apart and we had so many things in common. We met while deployed to Kuwait in 2004 and I smile, and sometimes laugh about all the crazy missions we went on and how we always found a way to "Make it Happen." We retired from the Army on the same day, April 30, 2006, and looked forward to writing the next chapters in our life stories. Going to the annual Capital Jazz Fest will not be the same without you. May God comfort and strengthen your family during this difficult time. RIP my friend. Love you much! Dee Meyers

Alfredia - we shared the love of the military, Transportation, and celebrating our birthdays one day apart. When I first came to FEMA I saw your smiling face and eagerness to teach and we became good friends. I believe the bonding happened over Starbucks drinks. I loved your energetic and enthusiastic personality. I will miss our conversations and hearing about the love and admiration you had for your precious mom, dad, brothers, nieces and nephews. I got to know mom and dad through your stories and learned of how close knit you guys were. Rest in peace my sister until we meet again! Love you and praying for your beautiful family. Dianna Coley

This is a tough one! Alfreda and I grew up together at Pleasant Grove Baptist church. She was intelligent, humorous and radiant!. She, Annie Hodge and Isalene Williams were three close souls. They are all together again. During many of the high school debate and drama trips Alfreda and I were often the only Blacks on the team. When she stepped up to the podium, she always represented us well. I am Sincerely praying for the family.
