Ms. Emma Jones, 88, of Columbus, GA, passed Sunday, June 28, 2020 in Columbus, GA.

Emma D. Jones was born April 16,1932, in Salem, Alabama. Emma was the youngest of four children born to the union of the late Lula Mae Wilbert and the late Arthur Allen. They all have preceded her in death.

Emma and her mother started studying the Bible in 1955 when she learned that God had a personal name. In 1962, Emma was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

She was passionate about sharing Bible truths with others. She devoted 20 years in the full-time pioneer work. Nothing gave her greater joy than boldly sharing with others her faith.

Emma passed away peacefully, Sunday, June 28, 2020 with her devoted and loving daughter by her side. Emma longed for the time when God’s promise to make all things new would be fulfilled. It’s that promise that brings comfort to those she left behind.

Emma was the mother of four children James Johnson Jeanette Johnson (spouse), Samuel Johnson, Stephanie Johnson (spouse) Cynthia Johnson, and Errol Jones Lanona Lynette Larkins-Jones (spouse); nine grandchildren, Tina Johnson, Kimberly Williams Stephen Williams (spouse), Sam Johnson Jr. (deceased), Reginald Johnson, Jennifer Evans Cameron Evans (spouse), Jasmine Jones, Carlton Jakes, Darren Johnson (deceased) and Stephanie Johnson.

My thoughts and prayers are with the family during this time. Aunt Emma will be greatly missed. She was such a warm sweet person. It is hard to imagine being at the Regional Convention and not seeing her sitting in the very front row enjoying a spiritual meal from Jehovah. It is the hope of seeing her again in paradise that helps me to endure the pain and grief at this time. L. Cill Holland
