He was of the Baptist faith and a member of Bethel Star Missionary Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon and sang in the choir. He also sang with the Fisher of Men’s Gospel Choir and other various groups in the area. He worked as a heavy equipment operator for many years. After his health failed, he retired but continued to tinker around with small jobs.
He leaves precious memories with his devoted wife, Elouise Peterman of Marianna, Florida; one son, Randy Peterman of Dothan, Alabama; three daughters, Annette Peterman Russell and husband Rev. Kenneth of Dothan, Alabama, Daffany Floyd of Birmingham, Alabama and Lisa Turner of Denver, Colorado; two brothers, Robert Peterman of Newark, New Jersey and Frank Peterman of Irvington, New Jersey; one sister, Mamie Jewel Williams of Newark, New Jersey; one sister-in-law, Hazel Long of Marianna, Florida; two aunts-in-law, Julia Wynn of Marianna, Florida and Rillier Jackson of Bartow, Florida; and many grands, great grands, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
A public viewing will be held Friday, July 10th from 3-5pm at Peoples Funeral Home Chapel.
A homegoing celebration will be held graveside Saturday, July 11th at 11am at Orange Hill Cemetery with Rev. George Williams, Elder Virgil Johnson, Sr., Elder Kenneth Russell and Elder Marcus Johnson officiating. Interment will follow with arrangements entrusted to the Caring Staff at Peoples Funeral Home of Marianna.
