Obituary For Yolaunda Yevett Payton

Ms. Yolaunda Yevett Payton departed this earthly life on Monday, June 29, 2020 at Covenant Medical Center Cardiovascular ICU- 3 West at the young age of 33 years, after battling health complications. She was born in Saginaw, MI on October 8, 1986 to Rudolph L. and Brenda Payton Sr. She was known as “Baby Girl” to her parents and affectionately called “Yogi” and “Yosey” by family and friends. Yolaunda was intelligent, kind-hearted, and had a smile that would light up a room. She had a beautiful, sweet spirit and was an absolute joy to be around. Yolaunda enjoyed spending time with family and friends, as well as, cooking, traveling, and enjoying a delicious meal at restaurants. Yolaunda graduated from Buena Vista High School in 2004 as salutatorian. She went on to attend Grand Valley State University to study Accounting. Yolaunda had a great work ethic and had a long standing work history with Kroger and Advance America in Bridgeport, MI. Her work ethic and commitment was proven while she was ill, as she often went to work many days even when she didn’t feel good. Yolaunda’s perseverance throughout her illness was truly remarkable. She will be remembered for her determination, strong will, and her ability to fight for life down to her last days. A Life Celebration will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2020, 11:00 AM immediate family only with family receiving friends on Friday 3-7 pm all services at Smith-Young Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
